On 1st January 2012, Mackay Baptist Church held its first church service at the new building, located on the Corner of Brisbane and Shakespeare Streets. Our first service was a great celebration of God's provision and love as we got to enjoy the comforts of the new building, whilst focusing our attention squarely on glory of God and His love for us. Our growing number of young families made quick use of the new cry room and creche facilities and our worship and technical ministries enjoyed having a brand new set of sound, audio and video tools with which to praise God. All services will continue from the new building, including our prayer meetings on Sunday nights (6:00pm). Our church office and counselling service will be relocated on Saturday 7 January (9:00) - helpers are requested for this. Please contact the church office on (07) 4957 3784. |

Painting begins (Tuesday 6 September) on site at the new church at 4:00pm. Work will continue until late and will be ongoing every day this week and the following week. If you can assist during the day or after work hours, there will be work for you to do. We expect to be painting through to Saturday, painting the internal and external concrete walls. Noisy work will cease at 6:30pm to comply with Council noise restrictions, but other work can continue afterwards. You will need to bring paint clothes with safety footwear and your own brushes (for trims around window frames). We will be given instruction on how to use some of the painting equipment and what to do. You don’t need to know what you’re doing, just turn up. Paint, rollers and related equipment will be supplied. But we will need masking tape, drop sheets and paper / newspaper to put over windows etc. If you can supply any of these, please bring them to the building site tomorrow. Our main job tomorrow will be preparing for painting which will continue thereafter. Also if you have any portable / free standing flood lights, please bring these too. I am sorry that this is short notice – we were only informed that painting would be required late last week and only told of the urgency today. This shouldn’t happen again. We are hoping to line up some professional painting supervision from Friday who will oversee things and work during the day. If you are available any time this week, please email me back. This is your church – now is the time to build it.

Vanuatu Fund Raiser
|
There have been a couple of suggestions regarding raising funds for equipment required in Vanuatu. |

A person has suggested that a table be set up at the rear of the church where items that are no longer required at home could be placed for sale. An "honour box" will be placed on the table for purchase of these items. If you would like to do the same, please mark items with a price and place them on the table. All proceeds will go to Vanuatu costs. A second person has requested a table for selling craft/hobby items for sale. A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of these items will go to the Vanuatu fund also. |
