MBC has released its new web site. It now includes additional content for ministries, as well as news and events. Dedicated sub-sites have been created for the property redevelopment project and for the Mackay Baptist Care ministry. More content and improvements are planned over the coming weeks. |

At a special general meeting held on the 25th October, 2009, the proposed constitution for the Mackay Baptist Church was accepted unanimously by members. |

At a special general meeting held on the 25th October, 2009, the proposed constitution for the Mackay Baptist Church was accepted unanimously by members. Whilst far from controversial, the changes provide an improved definition of core values and purpose for the roles of Elders and Deacons.

Specifically, this involves the delay of our relocation to temporary premises which was to occur later this month and is now planned for 2010. |

Attention all tradespeople!
MBC is getting very close to finalizing its arrangements for building the new church building. There will be a large number of opportunities for people to volunteer their time and services throughout the project. At this moment, we are finalizing the builder’s quotation. If you have a contractor’s license or work for a trade business and would like to submit a quotation to our builder for working on the project, we need to hear from you. This may also include if you are willing to provide services at a reduced rate or are willing to use volunteer workers to complete the work. Note that working on this job needs to be managed just like any other contract –work will need to be completed within normal working hours based on the timeline set by our builder.
The following are the areas of need – if you have skills in this area, please make contact with Kel Purdue:
• Electrical contractors and tradespeople
• Bricklayer contractors and tradespeople
• Carpenter contractors and tradespeople
• Demolition ticket holders
• Plumbing contractors and tradespeople
• Air conditioning contractors and tradespeople
• Concreters
• Painters
• Plasterers
• Tilers
• Landscapers
We also have a need for the following kinds of equipment and resources:
• Crane (and operators)
• Scissor lift / portable scaffold
• Scaffolding
• Fill
• Landscaping materials
