Property Redevelopment Project

Mackay Baptist Church is currently undertaking a significant property redevelopment project. This project will see the clearing of all existing buildings at our current site on the corner of Shakespeare and Brisbane Streets with a new, purpose-built facility constructed. The new facility will have a modern, worship-focused assembly with seating for 320-350, dedicated spaces for Sunday School and teaching programs, fellowship space, creche, cry room, meeting and office spaces.

The facility will commence construction in 2010. This site will be updated frequently with news and related events as well as documentation associated with the project.

Tradespeople Wanted 12/03/2010

Attention all tradespeople!

MBC is getting very close to finalizing its arrangements for building the new church building. There will be a large number of opportunities for people to volunteer their time and services throughout the project. At this moment, we are finalizing the builder’s quotation. If you have a contractor’s license or work for a trade business and would like to submit a quotation to our builder for working on the project, we need to hear from you. This may also include if you are willing to provide services at a reduced rate or are willing to use volunteer workers to complete the work. Note that working on this job needs to be managed just like any other contract –work will need to be completed within normal working hours based on the timeline set by our builder.

The following are the areas of need – if you have skills in this area, please make contact with Kel Purdue:

• Bricklayer contractors and tradespeople
• Carpenter contractors and tradespeople
• Demolition ticket holders
• Plumbing contractors and tradespeople

We also have a need for the following kinds of equipment and resources:

• Scissor lift / portable scaffold
